This was a creature seen in Island of the Body Snatchers. It was the pet of Circe and captured ships for her.
It didn't seem to have any special abilities beyond its immense size and aquatic nature. The beast's size alone made it a difficult opponent however. It was so large it was able to destroy the ship that the group sailed to the island in with brute force alone.
